There are over 200 acupuncture points on the ear; each point is named after an area of our anatomy. The outer ear acts like a switchboard to the brain. Each acupuncture point being treated, triggers electrical impulses from the ear via the brain, to the specific part of the body being treated.
What makes this treatment so powerful is the simple fact that is stimulates healing of electrical disturbances in the brain. If we remember that the brain controls the entire nervous system - and nerves influence every bodily function - we begin to see that this may be one of the most profound, elegant and simple ways to heal the mind and body that medicine has ever seen.
Modern science has proven what ancient cultures and millions of people have known all along: Acupuncture works! Technology such as Function MRI (fMRI) proves that ear acupuncture indeed triggers an effect in areas of the brain, specific to the corresponding zone on the ear.

Auricular Therapy may be your answer.
What is the history of Auricular Therapy?
Auricular acupuncture is the resulting work of Dr. Paul Nogier, a neurologist from France, who started his research in the 1950’s. He determined that the map of the ear acupoints was in the form of an upside down fetus, and he quickly discovered that stimulating ear acupoints was highly effective in alleviating pain in other areas of the body.
